Philip is a Musculoskeletal Radiologist, with subspecialist interests in Paediatric Radiology, Body Imaging and Interventional Procedures.

Between June 2021 and January 2023, Philip was Head of Radiology at Waitemata Health, Auckland, New Zealand, where he was the lead Radiology advisor to Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of Hospital Services, lead of Interventional Radiology and senior leadership team member.

Between January 2020 and June 2021, Philip was Clinical Director at Waitemata Health, Auckland, NZ, where he was the clinical lead of Radiology, lead of the COVID-19 response for the Radiology Departments, lead radiology advisor to Incident Management Team (IMT) and worked closely with the General Manager of Diagnostic Services Division and Clinical Support Services Division, the Chief Medical Officer, Executive Director Hospital Services and Radiology Operations Manager at Waitemata Health, Auckland, New Zealand.

Philip trained as a Medical Radiation Technologist at Waikato Hospital graduating in 1988.

He attended Auckland Medical School, graduating with an MBChB in 1995.

He commenced specialist radiology training in Auckland, graduating in 2004 with a FRANZCR.

He commenced work as a Consultant Radiologist at Waitemata DHB in December 2003, completed an MRI Fellowship at North Shore Hospital in 2006, worked as a Musculoskeletal and General Radiologist for Regional Imaging, NSW, Australia between December 2007 to December 2009 and resumed work at Waitemata DHB in December 2009 to January 2023.

Philip is married with 4 children and in his leisure time, enjoys supporting his children with their endeavours as well as fishing, boating and skiing.
