Dr Carole Paulus

Radiologist, Breast Imaging Clinical Lead

MBChB (France), FRANZCR

Carole attended the University Louis Pasteur Medical School in Strasbourg, France, graduating in 2001 before completing her training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in 2009. She moved to New Zealand in 2013 and since then she has worked in both the private and public sectors in Auckland, obtaining her FRANZCR in 2019. She joined the Beyond Radiology team at the end of 2023.

Carole has a special interest and expertise in Oncologic, Breast and Female Pelvic Imaging and reports General, Musculoskeletal and Head and Neck Imaging. She performs imaged-guided musculoskeletal procedures and breast biopsies.

Carole is passionate about improving Breast Health and early breast cancer detection for all women in New Zealand. She believes that public and private health practitioners should work hand in hand to provide clearer pathways, education and information to all women across New Zealand about their best screening options to reduce breast cancer mortality. Once one-size-fits-all, breast cancer screening is now evolving towards a more tailored approach and Carole is dedicated to give her patients the best care with transparent and compassionate communication.

Outside of work, Carole enjoys surfing with her partner, experimenting with ceramics and patting dogs. She has made Auckland her home and fully embraced the Kiwi lifestyle, although she does miss real French Camembert.
